whootage....task-offload number 3 for the graphics chipset. ATI Avivo looks to be a real step forward especially for compression. Real speed benefits and generic codec support in hardware :) seee here
So thats sound, networking, IO, t+l/gfx/decompression acceleration and now compression too... think I can see one of these sitting in my rig soonish, possibly coupled to an athlon64, though that would leave the 3200/abit nf7 as the sound machine, and (if it still works) my old asus a7n doing not a lot...hmm, think I'll be abandoning the plans to recover the remains of delfi's pc, even if I do have a pIII here, could always send it to her for using the viao as a second box :) Then I could use the a7n for video playback/pvr
