Scarf dilemma

As previously mentioned I am working on a scarf for Holly with Manos del Uruguay yarn (can't seem to get hyperlinks to work today so we are doing this the old fashioned way, www.manos.com.uy). I have two colors, a Mediterean Sea blue and a medium toned red. Taking inspiration from Brooklyntweed's Noro scarf (http://brooklyntweed.blogspot.com/2007/04/noro-scarf.html) and alternating the two skeins. It is nice but I am just not taking to it. First of all I think it is two narrow so I think I am going to rip it out (I have knitted about four inches) and add another inch to it. It is a little stiff and scratchy but I think that has to do with the fact that it is all wool. I am not sure there is much I can do about that. Finally because there isn't as dramatic a difference in the color changes in this yarn as Noro, with only two rows a color it is hard to see the variegation which I was looking forward to. I think as start over once again I am going to knit four rows for each color and see what kind of a difference that will make. Hopefully it won't make it look too chunky and not as cotton candyish. I wish I could post pictures but I forgot the cord to download pictures to my camera at home. Grrr. Anyways, somewhat frustrated. Ideas?

Will there ever be a day when I am confident in my own abilities as a creator? Especially is it is for someone else?

Off to work seven legs and the customs run and a very long sit at SEA, at least I have found a place where I can get internet there.
