One must never wait on a boy to call.

It amazes how fast time can fly. Or perhaps how much can happen in such a few numbers of hours. That was the warning that this is going to be a random post.

I had a lovely Easter day before going to work. Thankfully I was able to go to church and it was a wonderful service. It was the fullest I have ever seen the nine o'clock. It was so full of energy and celebration. It has been an odd and, in a way, difficult Lenten season. Primarily because it hasn't felt very much like a Lenten season. I have not often had the opportunity to go to church and have been remiss in truly taking the time to consider the religious season. But on Easter day I did feel it. I was able to celebrate the Resurrection. It felt wonderful. We sang hymns and songs (yes there is a difference). Rick gave a short sermon and there were several baptisms. After each one the congregation clapped and cheered. It was certainly a joyous day. I ran into several of my friends afterward and was able to chat a bit. Always nice.

Later in the day Amy and I went to brunch at a friend of hers from LC. It was rather annoying that there was champagne (I don't think I have ever been to a champagne brunch) and I couldn't drink any of it. Grr. But the food was good and the company as well. Though slightly awkward as I only knew a few of the people and only Amy well. And I had a full glass of champagne was spilled on me. Still 'twas a pleasant afternoon. We even had an Easter egg hunt. :) Afterward Amy and I got to chat a bit. Which was nice as we haven't had a chance to chat much lately.

Then off to work. Which was not so fun. I really didn't want to be there. I was tired and simply wanted a break. My crew was different too. I had such a wonderful time the previous trip. It is amazing how different the crews can be. Though the saving grace was the last turn last night when a different flight attendant joined the crew. Ben was great, a bit of an answer to prayer as I needed something to help me survive the rest of the trip. He was quite funny and friendly. Yet my bed felt absolutely wonderful, nay, heavenly last night.

Today I had a doctor's appointment but other than that was at my leisure. It has been purely delightful not to have a schedule. I have done pretty much whatever I have wanted all day long. I didn't do all of my chores but I am okay with that. I spent some time catching up with Juey, and considering she became engaged last week, there was a bit to catch up on. Walked in Tabor Park and have just completed watching the newest version of P & P.

I, like so many other women, am so in love with Mr. Darcy. Well, that probably isn't true. I think I am enamored with the idea of being adored. I want to be loved, adored, desired. I wait for it. Sometimes dispairingly but wait none the less. As for the movie, I enjoyed. The first half an hour, hour were a bit grueling but the rest was good. The cinematography was amazing throughout. Very well done. As was the music. But I had to get over the fact that it wasn't the book or even as complete as earlier versions. In fact there are several blaring discrepancies including a very corny ending, but it was dealt with. I can see the charm in the movie taken for itself alone. I did particularly enjoy the scene in which Charlotte explains her reasons for marrying Mr. Collins. It is the first time I have ever seen here as such a strong character and such a straight forward explanation behind her reasoning. The book will always be my favorite. As for cinematic renditions, the BBC version will always have a place in my heart as the way I fell in the love with Lizzy, Darcy, and the story in the first place but the A & E version is quite excellent. Yay Colin Firth! And I have discovered a new favorite quote for Pua "One of these days Lizzie (Pua) someone is going to catch your eye and you shall have to catch your tongue." ;)

As a side note, I heard a new song today. It wasn't that great of a song but it did have a line that made me laugh hysterically. "He's so GQ he could be gay. His pickup line is borderline lame. But he's a pilot and that's HOT!" I think I know way too many pilots. And the..sexyness...atractiveness...of pilots has come up in many a conversation. Granted many a man may look good in a uniform, but I have seen a few uniforms and it is not universal. Perhaps I have just been too smitten with a pilot or too. I don't know. It just struck me and made me laugh.

Now it is definitely time for bed.
