This is in response to a post qxbear asked his devoted fans to do on their Blogs.
The fist CD I ever bought was Tears for Fears - Song from the Big Chair. I also bought my first CD player the same day. I had owned the cassette of the album for like 6 months and I had only bought that about a year and a half after the album was released. I was late to jump in on this band as I felt their music was a little to moody for me at the time it was released. But good lyrics and great arrangments caught up with me and I fell deeply in love with each track in its own right. Head Over Heels is probably the stand out song to me as it grabs you with its staccato verses and heavy-handed piano. I alwys seemto gravitate towards the bands that are influenced by The Beatles and they were no exception. the melody change-ups in the middle of songs, the tight envoking lyrics of classics as Everybody Wants to Rule the World haunt me to this day. It is a great album that defines a moment in the decade of "Me" and when trying to watch any classic movie in the 80's you always have a good chance of hearing this classic group one more time!
Let me know in a post on your journal what was your first CD?
