Has it been that long?

Well I have to REALLY apologize, for the amount of time I've spent away from my writing. Its been like 3 weeks actually and I feel like so much has happened and so much has not happened. OK well the big news is I quit smoking. The last 11 years have been a blur but I've retired the old coffin nails. Now mind you I do have a crutch. I'm using the patch. Now if you want my opinion...I'll wait for the peanut gallery! Ok. Now the patch works. There are some side effects or drawbacks. The first one being "No Drama". Now if any of you have quit smoking and you know the urges you get to have one. Well kiss that goodbye. You might want to grab a smoke out of habit but not because you NEED one. So when your working or reading a book or watching TV and you say "Hey I should grab a smoke?" you look at the little cage inside yourself where your nicotine demon wait and it's passed out with a full stomach. So you say to yourself "Nah, I'm to lazy to get up." and you don't put on like fourteen layers of clothes and go outside for a cigarette. The second being the first week of sleep. Ok, I've been told that you have weird dreams BUT GOOD GOD! They are some weird ones. The first 3-4 days I had restless nights of sleep. Was kind of exhausted but overall still not smoking. After those sleepless nights the really weird dreams kicked in. How about this, My cousin Mike, the lead guitarist for the Barenaked ladies and I hung out in my high school talking about how weird 9 volt batteries taste. If that’s not weird then maybe talking about classic rock music with Melissa in a canoe while she is wearing a wet suit floats your no pun intended boat. The third is if you want the demon to get loose then forget your patch like I did today. I haven't jones'd for a smoke like that in a while. I made it through but I tell you I was really close to buying a pack. But I thought about how long I hadn't smoked and how disappointed Melissa would be and I held off. But I drove as fast as I could home to get that patch on.

Well it is unfortunately, really late so I'll have to write more tomorrow. Oh real quick, I started playing World of Warcraft to give me a new focus while I quit. What an awesome game. I'm new to the whole MMORPG but this one is a lot of fun. I play with my brother, his girlfriend and my pal Mark. Good Times!!!
