Part thirteen In which we find out more about Marta and Emil, the gang goes to see Verius, Decus rejects himself and he finally scores with Alice. Also, did someone say ~Kratos Aurion~?
Part Fourteen
So, now that we have Yuan and access to Rheairds (so pointless), let's go foightin' round the world!
In Hima, the gang runs into Emil. He talks about how he's doing everything he does for Marta because she was the first one to like him for the wussy he really is.
He doesn't want to fight Decus, because he feels a little guilty about the Blood Purge, but if we go down to the Ginnungagap, he won't have a choice.
And in Palmacosta, they run into Marta.
Who is fighting to change the world. That's why she'll try to get stronger and stronger.
Now, to Iselia, to meet with Verius!
Who notices that Decus is a bit undecided about the whole... soul melting thing. He needs a bit more time to be sure it's what he wants.
Just as they turn to leave the temple, there's an earthquake and Decus looks a little constipated.
OH NOES!
... There are a million and one comments I could make about Richter's facial expression, but... Basically, he's forcing the door open.
Good point, Colette.
Decus lashes out at Yuan, causing him to drop Lumen's core. ... So apparently swinging a sword at Yuan causes him to drop random important items that are in his inventory. This is canon now.
After hatching Lumen, Decus collapses.
And awakens in Alice's arms. Aw yeaaahhh.
Yup, Decus, you betrayed Yuan's trust. He'd run you through with a sword if that didn't mean the door to Niflheim really would open.
After leaving the temple, Ratatosk once again shows his face to whine at everyone.
He believes he was totally justified in attacking Yuan to take the core. But Decus disagrees and decides to... talk to Ratatosk... inside his head. ... Somehow.
It looks very cool though.
He tries to make Ratatosk see things his way, being the Jiminy Cricket that he is.
But Ratatosk refuses to listen, so Decus enlists Verius' help. ... PAY NO ATTENTION TO RATATOSK'S PONYTAIL. (hahah, now that I've pointed it out you're going to look at it anyway.)
After regaining consciousness again, everyone talks about how they'll support Decus' decision to become Ratatosk and guard the door.
But before heading to the Ginnungagap, everyone randomly spreads out all across the world to do some last minute things. ... and have talks. Eh.
Lloyd is in Flanoir. Apparently, Yuan took over guarding the tree for a bit so Lloyd could go out and stretch his legs. Anyway, Lloyd starts making depressing references to Mithos.
And over by the World Tree, Yuan is talking to A MYSTERIOUS FUZZY FIGURE. I WONDER WHO IT COULD BE. Whoever it is, he knows Yuan's... *coughsnickersnort* last name.
Decus wonders who the mysterious person with the narrator's voice is, but Yuan tells him to butt out. For once, not swapping the sprites leads to something IC. Though I'm not fond of Yuan's usage of the word "please".
In Luin, Decus goes to meet with his aunt and uncle one last time. He thanks them for watching over him even though he was a complete stranger. He also admits that he hated them. They tell him to return so they can give this family thing a second try, but... It doesn't look like Decus is jumping at that opportunity.
Then Decus goes to Altamira to meet with Alice. Ohoh, just look at that full moon. So romantic.
Naturally, Alice yells at him. Nothing he does is ever good enough.
But then she finally swallows her pride and hugs him. Decus/Alice shippers all over the world cheer.
♥
IT IS IMPLIED THAT SHE IS KISSING HIM.
Whatever it was, it's making Alice blush, in any case.
"You aren't so bad, Dumbo-Decus. ... But if you tell anyone about this, you're dead, you hear me?"
The next morning, they arrive at the Otherworldly Gate!
Decus, being Ratatosk, has the power to break continuity and opens a portal to the Ginnungagap.
But as they descend into the Ginnungagap, the old partymembers disappear.
Apparently, they had the Derris Emblem with them. Ratatosk (Decus!) set a trap to catch the owners of the Derris Emblem. It's interesting, though, that they descend into that place as a full party, only one partymember had the emblem with them, and yet everyone except Alice disappeared.
Where did the old party go? What horrors will Alice and Decus encounter in the Ginnungagap? What sidequests await them before the final boss?
Stay tuned!
