Part three Let's put up part four while I'm at it. In which we meet the reincarnate of evil- the leader of the Vanguard's combat unit, Alice is a meanie to the Chosen of Sylvarant and she laughs at some boy who's about to fall to his death. Also, the worst freakin' minigame in the world.
Part Four
As they leave the Mural Cavern, Alice and Decus catch sight of Marta, the leader of the Vanguard Combat Unit.
And decide to spy on her.
Marta is a bit upset. It seems they're looking for Colette, the Chosen, but can't find her.
Hawk is quite useless, apparently.
Marta looks just about ready to rip him a new one. Alice warns Decus that Marta is a notorious "fangirl", so he needs to be careful around her.
Alice are you honestly implying that Decus is attractive enough to have creepy girls fangirl over him?
In any case, they decide to start looking for the Chosen as well. She may know something about Lloyd and fabulous blue-haired weirdo.
They find her in Aisha's house. Seems Colette is also looking for Lloyd. She must've just missed him, considering we passed him as we entered the city.
Alice starts flipping her lid. She blames Colette for what happened with the monster tree two years ago. It's because of the tree's attack that her mother died. Instead of pointing the finger elsewhere, like to the Summoner who was making pacts to break Mana Links or the guy who told them to break Mana Links, she accepts the blame.
This just makes Alice madder.
Much madder.
She shoves Colette into a bookshelf and runs.
Outside, a little boy throws a hissyfit because he saw Alice shove Colette. Apparently he was watching through the window. ....... That's not creepy at all.
A mysterious gust of wind lifts the boy up from the ground and carries him off. Alice and Decus chase after him to see him hanging from a... broken stone bridge thing.
Yes. Yes, she has. What goes around comes around, kid.
That's when Marta appears! She would love to have Alice fall to her death.
I see London I see France, I see Marta's underpants. And yeah, no kidding Decus won't like it. He's standing right there.
But Colette shows up and saves them. Alice can't help but wonder why, considering she shoved Colette just two scenes ago.
Aawww... That's our Colette!
Marta is not amused.
The boy explains that it really isn't the Chosen's fault that Palmacosta was destroyed. I wholeheartedly agree. I mean, it's about as much Colette's fault as it's Regal's fault.
And so, they decide to team up with Colette to investigate the mysterious gusts of wind. But they're still not friends or anything. Their first stop is the stone dais, where Colette acts like a derp.
And trips.
Then they're attacked by a huge monster called Garuda. They're unable to defeat it in battle.
So time for a sidequest! Urggh...
They go to Hima to find the dragon tamer.
The Dragon Tamer is gone, but at least they could still score a winged dragon!
We all know who that is gonna be...
And so I'm forced into a horrible minigame. Trust me, shaking the Wiimote is not easy when you're playing this game without a Wiimote. But I managed to emulate Wiimote shaking after a lot of tinkering and swinging my mouse all over the place.
To make matters worse, the minigame was ineffective. Even after defeating the Garuda, it just comes back anyway.
Oh great, more "plot".
They go to ask Linar for more information on the stone dais. Aisha and Harley are there also. The topic of Lloyd comes up and Decus makes a fool of himself by saying Lloyd was partly responsible for his parents' death.
Awkward silence, go.
Outside the house, Colette wonders if Decus is a "maniac" because of his violent moodswings. It reminds her of Raine's Ruin Mania mode.
So to find out what's underneath the stone dais, the Maiden Ritual is required. Aisha teaches it to Alice.
Because of the plotdevice Core in her forehead, the Maiden Ritual is even more effective than usual and a special magical teleportation thing appears.
Inside, the topic of Lloyd is brought up again. They explain that Lloyd apparently supported the Church of Martel's attack on Luin, but Colette refuses to accept it. However, she would also like to believe Decus and Alice, because they're her new friends.
Alice rejects her friendship.
So they venture into the dungeon and find Ventus' Core.
It is guarded by the Fake Sylph, which is surrounded by Ventus' aura.
After defeating it, Alice hatches the core.
They leave the dungeon and Colette wonders just what the deal with Lloyd is. Decus suggests that she keep traveling with them, but Colette rejects the offer.
Gee, I wonder where he got a Rheaird...
So Colette decides to search for Lloyd by flying around. It's a lot faster. Curse her and her ability to sprout luminous wings!
And so we say goodbye to Colette. Bye Coleeetteee.
Will Alice and Decus find more cores? Will they run into Lloyd again? Who is the next party member they'll encounter?
Stay tuned!
