So much ha happened but so little time to actually blog about it...
so I wanna do a quick update this mornin b4 I get buried under my work again.. lolWell.... for those who have been following my blog since at least about a year ago, u would remember this entry about the marketing awards and how I came in second place.. *grumble grumble*

I got a call 2 days ago and you're looking at
The Top Student for the Bachelor of Business (Marketing) 2006!!!!!!

OMFG!! I couldn't believe it when I got the phonecall and the committee member (Mark) on the phone said that I had won!!

I mean.. let alone be the finalist..!

I had to ask him at least twice "are you sure I won??" and until now it still seems so unreal!

Of 'cos at the back of my mind I had been reminding myself to keep a lookout for a letter of some sort from Monash.. hoping to at least be told that I'm a finalist (I thought I missed it with the grades I got.. thought I would at the most, and least, be a finalist)

Also, knowing how the Monash Marketing Awards for Excellence usually works, I was a little confused at that time -- you see, in the past they wouldnt' reveal the winner until the awards night, right at the award presentation itself. But the system has been changed this year and Mark said "well the list doesn't state your marks but yes, you are listed as the winner of the award".

OMFG (once again)!!! I seriously couldn't believe my ears!!

I was ecstatic!.. hyperventilating almost.. lol I was so tired before from working late and long hours but this just totally invigorated me..!

And then when Mark asked me how I would like my name to be on the trophy I realised this HAS gotta be real... but still couldn't really believe it.. lol

So yesterday when I went doen to the MMAE office to get my tickets and all, when they were processing my details and all, they went to 'the list' and was like Oh u're the winner! and I SAW IT FOR MY VERY OWN EYES.. amongst the 3 finalist where my name had 'WINNER' just beside it...

My Uni-lifelong Dream has been achieved... what a way to finish up my undergrad degree!!!

I knew that I'm brilliant.. just didn't know I was THAT brilliant.. muahahhahaha

To an extent I feel as if I can finally close one humongous chapter in my life and move on to greater heights..!

For ONCE I've actually got an outcome which has left me COMPLETELY & IMMENSELY SATISFIED such that there is not 'if's, 'but's, 'couldhav's, etc..,. (tho' I still wish I had made one more fuckin percent to hit that HD average.. =/ )

I remember saying a year ago that if I got to being a finalist, I would be 'content' -- not joyous or satisfied, but just content.. and now, I'm a VERY happy girl..

Now, again tho.. I have even more dilemmas in my mind.. Getting this award easily almost means that if I do further studies I would easily get a scholarship. That would mean more boost to my ego, slightly lighter load on the fees, and getting to stay on in Australia!!

And now that I have reached that ultimate undergrad goal, I find a lesser need to be so hard on myself and will be able to balance out work-study life if I were to do postgrad...

I do, in fact, think it's a great arrangement to get to work in the day (student visa allows some work) and study in the evenings (since most postgrad classes are in the evening)..

But then again, I don't know if that will agree on this, or if this would only prolong my stay and still won't help me to finally settle in to Australia for good..

Residency issue is such a pain in the arse.. can't they just see me for my brilliance and let me stay on for good..??

Now I'm seriously even thinking if I should perhaps go academic..that might be a path that could help me stay on long.. but is that my true calling? (don't get me wrong I love that side of it and intend to teach in my later years.. but how about my dream to climb the corporate ladder..? won't I be betraying myself and letting myself down then..?) and then again.. application for Honours has already closed...

All I can hope now is that I land a job or get a job offer that would sponsor me a working visa to stay on in Aus.. I mean, given the right company with the right prospects, i would almost sell my soul to the corporation..!! lol (figure of speech onli. OK.. but yes,. I admit.. "Hi I'm Nicole Loo and I'm an immense WORKAHOLIC"
