Tall Tower

Firmly rooted deep within the succulent soil
It stretched to its full height
Hugging the Clouds and kissing the Heavens.

Her confidence shrank as her eyes
Reluctantly
Groped the full height of
The Tall Tower
Air burst into her defeated mouth
Mingling with the bitter taste of
Dread and Death.

Love waited
Perched atop the monstrous monstrousity
Emanating Beauty, Gentleness and Passion
He tilted his face toward the cerulean sky
Oblivious of his imprisonment
Allowing the bubbling breeze to wash across his
Sun Kissed Skin.

The gentle breeze howled through her choppy copper locks
Slapping her face
Clawing her flesh
Eagerly she sunk her fingers in
Deeper
Straining to reach higher
And elevate herself to her lovers state of
Oblivion
Further forward she struggled against the Wind
Who mercilessly pushed her back toward Earth
From her current position on the slick side of
The Treacherous Tower.

His smooth skin warmed beneath the Sun's long rays
Caressing his calves
Groping his arms
Sliding across his chest
Rubbing his belly
Tasting his deep brown tresses
Content lids slid over Chestnut Eyes
Convinced that Paradise was not Lost
But here
Atop this Perfect Pedestal.

Again the Wind attacked her as she climbed further up The Tower
To reach her Love
Revolting Rays from the Sun
Baked her flesh
Slickening her grip with Perspiration
Weighed down by doubt
The Wind won and laughed haughtily when her grip failed
And she was thrust to the unforgiving Earth.

Dark lashes crashed upon rosy wind torn cheeks
Leaking tears that stung her wounded Soul and battered Heart
Beaten by the Elements within her hallowed frame she lay
Unmoving
Uncaring
Unknown
Forever staring at that Precarious Pedestal holding captive
The Love that had once lit Life within her
Now it stole her Essence
Replacing it with the stale air of Death and Despair.

That Treacherous Tower
Which arrogantly broke her Spirit
Pompously hugged the Clouds and kissed the Heavens.
