School is turning into a joke. Our new principal, or rather dictator, has started a daily tradition of calling names to ::insert scary music:: THE WALL. I have no clue where this alleged "wall" is, but I know it's not an honor to go there. It's quite pathetic, really. The supposed leaders of our school are congregating around the PA system each morning and gleefully reciting the names of about 15 students who have in some way broken a rule. Not only must those students suffer the humiliation of having their names called so that the entire student body can hear, but they also must endure whatever consequences follow suit. I think there are more ciivil ways of going about this, but hey, that's just me. Then again, I'm not all for this new principal. Why she broadcasts for all of us to call her "Principal Hanes" I really don't know. Is it an ego trip? Does she feel she deserves something further than "Mrs."?? Ah, yes, this is one of those unsolved mysteries of life. I don't care to dwell on this any longer.

I was reading an article in one of the newspapers I receive... I don't remember which one, but it was informing the readers on how this winter won't be quite as cool as last years. Dammit! I was looking forward to bundling up in sweaters and coats. I need a break from this hot, sticky, humid weather. I wish it would snow in Florida. Talk about a dream come true...

So, Karen wants to skip out on Homecoming and come with me to Fall Kallah. I'm not sure how I'd manage to pull that one off. It'd be amazing for her to come and experience that part of my life with me, but I'm not sure if it can be arranged.
