I'm in the midst of reading "The Grand List of Console Role Playing Game Cliches," at
http://project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html, and it's far too hilarious and frighteningly accurate. Some of my favorites are #52-The Insomnia Rule and #22-MacGyver Rule. RPGs are probably my favorite genre of video game, and I always get deeply engrossed into their worlds. But I wonder if I'm just playing the same game over and over with only minor variations. It got me thinking about how many RPGs I've played and the countless hours I've spent trying to get every character's ultimate weapon/armor/title/summon etc. With that terrible segue, here's an unnecessary list of RPGs I've played:
Final Fantasy VII (only got through half, don't know why I never finished)
Final Fantasy X
Dragon Quest VIII
Tales of Symphonia
Tales of the Abyss
Tales of Legendia (still playing)
Kingdom Hearts I
Kingdom Hearts II
Shadow Hearts: Covenant
Shadow Hearts: From the New World (still playing)
Knights of the Old Republic
Jade Empire
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Wow, they really are crazy about roman numerals, eh?
