PotC:OST/JackDavenport/HarryPotter and other fandom things

Dec 16, 2010 00:52

I'll do another life related post later, but this is all fandom...with plenty of related videos!

PotC: When the OST trailer came out I was very fangirly and jumped up and down informing everyone how I'd waited 3 years for it. What with the new pictures, synopsis, and behind the scenes sort of clips I expect we'll have much more to talk about before May 20 spins around.

-Gillette (Damian O'Hare) and Groves (Greg Ellis) are returning! YAY. At least we'll see some Navy men...
-London and imposters and Blackbeard and Jack, oh my.

PotC related videos:
A fun PotC music video with music from Toybox:

Jack Davenport in a short film called Terrible Kisses:

I rented Leap Year with Amy Adams, but what started throwing me off was how much Matthew Goode looks like scruffy Jack Davenport. I couldn't unsee the similarities. I mean LOOK:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1: I might do a longer review of it later, but I was very pleased. The sense of isolation was there and every change they made seemed purposeful. I was especially pleased they filmed Hermione wiping her parents' memories it definitely communicated how serious and heightened the threats are.

The nekkid attacking horcrux was totally unexpected. That aside, I'm looking forward to the continuing epic-ness of part 2.

Doctor Who:If you have BBC America you'll be getting Doctor Who A Christmas Carol on Christmas! (And obviously if you're in the UK it's a given you're getting it on Christmas...:D)

Matt Smith was adorkable on Craig Ferguson:

Craig Ferguson sums up Doctor Who in a song and dance explaining the show is about the "triumph of intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9P4SxtphJ4

Marvel/ DC:
Thor: Prof. Lockhart directing Kirk 2.0's dad and Luke Skywalker's mom. :D

Captain America: I did enjoy his performance in Push with Dakota Fanning. Beyond that I'm hopeful.

I do appreciate the efforts of this guy:

Green Lantern: I'm not sold on the movie. The visuals are impressive, but I don't know Ryan Reynolds' work that well. I am optimistic about the upcoming Green Lantern animated series helmed by Bruce Timm aka the man behind Batman and Superman the animated series

Spiderman the broadway musical Turn Off the Dark has been encountering setbacks and has been pushed back yet again. Three injured actors are not a good sign for a production costing $65 million dollars.
Spiderman the Reboot: What? Is the rule every ten years now? I probably will watch it if it sounds interesting, but this seems awfully soon.
