I was strolling though my lists of favorites at ff.net and rediscovered this story.
To Live Would Be An Awfully Big Adventureby Ailidh
I read the reviews I had left and realized just how much I had enjoyed it. You see, when I reviewed as a sort of thank you to the author I summarized the story in an almost poem-like way. It's a shame this story has yet to be finished, but it's quite interesting.
Here's one example of a "summary" review I had left:
Jack Sparrow in a mental asylum; all his life people believed him to be daft, crazy, addlepated...
As a child trapped in world where human companionship had to be sought after and found before he could have it.
As a young man betrayed and left to die on yet another island that would change his life.
Near ten years of longing, searching, for two things: one he had forgotten, another that couldn't escape him mind.
Even after he had found the latter of the two there was still... something.
Now, he must confront his past and the future.
If you do read below the cut then it spoils some of the other chapters...:D
=
"Let's shoot him in the face!"
"Yeah! Let the mutineer pay for his crime again!But-"
"What did the captain say?"
"Said we can't beat Barbossa to a bloody slime-"
"That one was my favorite too..."
"-Or kill him!"
"WHAT?"
The island has awakened, taken a form, an enemy of old with new life. Pursued by two with evil intentions which he does not know. Uncertainty reigns in Neverland...
We have become aware, of two awakenings, of three pasts.
The first of the subject of countless legends, the second a conquered, yet revived foe, the third one who has known them-in all their different forms.
Memories have shown us, told us what has made them what they are and have never been. Their wishes, their wants and their dreams...
Two pirates, two captains, two with fates intertwined,
their meeting affected the course of their lives.
Two lives for them one seeming a dream, but both were real as the other.
The island it's role, it's act is yet played, she is in every tree and grass blade...
This tale is not finished, more is sure to come, and come what may readers be sure to be there when it does...
...and remember if you enjoyed her tale-think she is worthy-review!
An olive branch petition? Or an offer devoid of any such intention? What motives crawl behind the words? Did they not feel that SHE, the island has heard?
With eyes and ears better than that of any mortal, not confined by corporeal limits...
Surely the the captain has reservations- to trust such an ancient foe is bound to beckon woe.
Readers come near, the questions I have are many, the answers are few-I expect to be here at the next chapter and so should YOU.
