Jack Sparrow Voodoo Doll Flashback

Aug 14, 2007 21:39

At Keep to the Code.com before DMC came out we had a very amusing discussion about the Jack Voodoo doll we saw in the advertisements.  One thing we talked about was what if the Voodoo doll was used in some way to bring Jack back. Then, we started thinking about possible problems... These are just two snippets that I wrote and saved:

VOODOO

The doll rises on unsteady feet...
ELIZABETH: Jack...
Doll gazes at hands, small painted face has a look of terror etched on it.
DOLL: [Barbossa's voice]NOT ANOTHER BLOOMIN' CURSE!

WILL: WHAT DID YOU DO?

TIA DALMA: You must remember young one...magic is a complex and ever changing art...You cannot simply wave an ancient artifact and expect it to go as pleases you...

ELIZABETH:[Shakes doll dangerously] GET OUT OF JACK'S DOLL!

TIA DALMA: Careful...

WILL: Elizabeth-

ELIZABETH: What?

TIA DALMA: [Smiles softly] Ah...the first unconscious voodoo doll...
Perhaps now is best time to try and find Jack.

WILL: Because he's asleep?

TIA DALMA: No, I want to get him out of here before he starts snoring.

This bit right here was when we were imagining what the end scene for DMC would be:

The credits finish rolling, fade to black, everyone starts leaving as they have just gotten over post-POTC:DMC shock. The screen flickers a bright red/orange, people look towards the screen call to others "Wait!", the camera zooms out to reveal a candle, zoom further out the voodoo doll sits at the base of the lone candle, it smiles it's painted lips slowly in the manner of the pirate it was made after by light of flickering flame...
