So the quarter is pretty much over. Classes ended on Thursday of last week and tomorrow is my only final I've had this week. Pretty glad it's over. This means I get to go home and have pretty much no work to do. It's awesome. All I have to do is shoot at least one roll a day for seven consecutive days and think about making a self-portrait in 2D design art class. I had my final 2D design art critique on Monday and Tuesday was my final photography critique. Everything went pretty well with both. It was predominantly good with slight "this could be worked on a little more" comments here and there. Nothing too negative at all, but just things to make me better. So far, I have three out of my five grades and they are all As: film, first year enrichment, and 2D design art. Fine by me. I'm waiting on photography (which looks like an A) and art history (which looks like a B), but I can wait.
When I come home, there is so much to be done! I'm exciiited. I'm seeing Lauren (!), people from Murrow (hopefully!) and visiting, seeing some Staten Island people, Tamara (!), Adam (!), Joe (!), and of course my mom. My brother will be away, so that sucks, but it's cool. I have two or three clubs in mind to venture out to, which will be fun. Seeing Adam and his funfun party will be a big highlight in my trip home. I miss yous guys! I have plans for every day but it would be nice to just go without plans. But we can save that for winter break instead, when I have three weeks to do a ton of projects probably and maybe relax at some point. Right now, since it'll only be a week and a day, planning is necessary. Let's see if it all follows through.
Amma picked me up some photo RC paper from K&M thankfully. I didn't want them to run out of my sexysexy cool tone pearl paper. I want to use Ilford Satin so bad. Mmmm, hot. Then I need to get fiber and I was told to get glossy Ilford - gross! I hate glossy. But she wants us to print on glossy because there isn't much difference in how it looks when wet or dried down. A little, but not much, so it's understandable. I'm buying two rolls of chrome 35mm off Tamara, and then I have to buy some digital Epson matte paper - I loves me some matte paper. And a flash. And a PC sync cord. And a 40GB (at least) external hard drive for photo work. Aaaaand inks. But we're not sure what printers we're using yet, so the inks can wait. Aaaaand a digital SLR. Gosh photo, why do you cost so much? Give us college students a break.
It's weird, but I still don't feel like I'm in college. Just feels like NYSSSA but a little less fun, and a lot more work.
SEE YOU GUYS SOON!
