The tilte of this post is inspired by "
Grass on the wayside", an autobiographical novel of
Natsume Sōseki. Have I ever told you how much I adore him? He got me head over heels for Japanese classical literature xD. Books by him got translated into my native language are Kusamakura, Botchan and Kokoro. I have only Kusamakura though :(
Onto the main topic, there are some pics of
Quisqualis indica for you ^^. They're from my neighbour's fence, and are in their full bloom at this time of year ~
I've always love planting flowers, hopefully I'll be able to plant one for my mom's so called "rooftop garden" soon :). It takes 2 years to produce the first bloom if planted from seed, and one year from cutting.
EDIT: The flower in this photo set is fragantless. But others have sweet yet light smell, resemble Jasmine in some way. And their flowers are a little smaller than this one, with 2 colors (white and red) on a same tree.
