I guess some of you know by now that I read The Stand by Stephen King (1200 pages, my friends; it was quite a feat). Stephen King has been a pretty big influence for Darlton while they have been writing the show, but they have said that The Stand is probably the one work of fiction that has had the greatest influence on Lost as a whole.
