On being a shut in, and other topics

thanks everyone for your thoughts, I do appreciate it.  Its nice to know that I do have friends out there, even if they can't make it out to me, at a particular time/day.  It is a big boost when I'm feeling like a shut in due to being sick, and haven't been able to leave the house for several days in a row.  One's  perceptions start to get screwed up, and one starts to wonder what the actual world outside looks like.

KK had a skating lesson that I joined him for yesterday night.  He really wanted me to come.  I do give some props to the ex's for being good about this one.  Usually Grandma J takes him, watches lesson and then brings him home, this time I added on.  He was SOOOOOOO Cute!!! i think that this was his 4th lesson, and he's doing very well.  Apparently the first lesson, he fell constantly, and couldn't stay on his feet for more than a few seconds at a time.  Now he is upright most of the time, still falls, but always gets up with a big smile on his face, and keeps trying to do whatever new skill the teacher is trying to get them to do.  it was still starts and stops thsi week, with more tries of little jumps.  He was amazing and obviously having so much fun, despite all the time on his Butt.  I had a great time, and hopefully we can make this a more regular thing.  Next step, Little t wants me to come to 'jump-jump' class with her (gymnastics, which she loves) which is friday am's.

Today is going to be a long day.  I didn't sleep well this past night-- I found out the dose of prednisone that is too far/fast a dose decrease (i was tapering off) to control my joint symptoms, so rough night of pain.  At least I do have some good new medications, that seem to help with the associated pain.  So, back up to 25 mg for today.  i have my first appointment with my new family M.D. tomorrow so we can make a plan then.  then , YAY Finally! appointment wiht hematologist for hopefully starting IVIG treatment, which should significantly improve things-- both from a joint/autoimmune point of view, but also from a getting infections point of view.

Well, must go.  Kids coming over in an hour and a half.  Need Coffee, prednisone etc. so I can actually get more of my self moving and over morning stiffness before they get here!  Also, kalen thinks that they may have a play date coming over as well, so I should probably tidy a bit more too!

wonderful friends, feeling sick, health, family, pain, kids
