The joy of developing literacy

For some months now, most of our rooms at home have been labelled with (generally a phonetically-spelled version of) their names. My favourite is 'owt' on the front door.

This morning I discovered that the breakfast cereal packets have been annotated. The cornflakes now come 'with poo' and the multi-grain hoops are 'with smelly socks'.

Ah, the power of the written word.
