So, I got my tongue pierced thanks to the one and only Chris, who kindly volunteered to pay for it :]
It hurt so so so much, properly because of the much muscle the needle had to penetrate.
I can’t talk properly; I have an awful lisp now, which sucks cuz I feel like I sound like a retard.
Raphael and i have also been quiet sick which sucks heaps
not to mention, raphs horrible allergic reaction to prawns (go figure!?)
I’ve been worrying lately about the consequences of eating food containing MSG.
I decided to look it up and i wrote some stuff on it for a biology assignment.
the fist bit (directly below this paragraph) is the definition by wikipedia.
the rest is my own work.
"Chemical structure of monosodium glutamate
Monosodium glutamate, sodium glutamate, flavour enhancer 621 EU food additive code: E621. HS code: 29224220. (IUPAC names: 2-aminopentanedioic acid, 2-aminoglutaric acid, 1-aminopropane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid), commonly known as MSG, Ajinomoto or Vetsin, is a sodium salt of glutamic acid. MSG is a food additive, popularly marketed as a "flavour enhancer". It was discovered and patented in 1909 by Ajinomoto Corporation in Japan. In its pure form, it appears as a white crystalline powder; when dissolved in water (or saliva) it rapidly dissociates into free sodium and glutamate ions (glutamate is the anionic form of glutamic acid, a naturally occurring amino acid)."
(taken from wikipedia.com)
According to another online source, scientists need to create obese mice/rats to test on (as no rat of mouse can be naturally obese) to achieve this, they inject them with MSG at birth.
They even call the rats that have been subjected to MSG injections “MSG-treated rats”
With humans, MSG is added to food for the addictive effect it has on the human body.
When these companies are asked WHY they are putting chemicals hazardous to our health in food, they simply state that it is to make people eat more, mainly targeting the elderly.
Not only is MSG scientifically proven to cause obesity, it is addictive and may have various side effects on the brain.
Basically, it is nicotine for food.
Not to mention, there no limits set on how much of it can be added to food.
I guess it depends on how much you value you're health.
well im off now, think about it.
