that kind of thing bothers me just as much as people trying to force religion. Everything is so PC these days.. We're so free but there are so many things that are censored because of that freedom.. it's so ironic. the kind of people make the complaints about that kind of stuff are usually the ones who make me the most angry. I actually have a big rant in my head right now but my brain isn't functioning right i don't think, so i'm going to stop there. the only other thing i have to say is that doing the pledge of allegiance, (as a citizen of Brazil, at that) never made me feel like i was being forced to believe in god or anything like that. I always respected it for what it was.

Did you hear me SCREAMING today when I heard this??? What the hell is going on these days??

Right when I was feeling 'oh-so-very-old' in my beliefs, I came here and found that I am not that terribly old in my ideals. Thank you!

probably shouldn't feel too old in your aspects, especially since the person pursuing the issue is closer to your age then mine, and the judges who upheld the ruling are certainly more of your generation than mine once again..

dont blame the younguns.. like the email you sent me the other day.. my generation didnt take the prayer out of school, etc.. it was yours. *smile*

But the integral part of the story is... ataglance June 27 2002, 00:32:48 UTC
That "under God" was added in 1954 by (Truman?) and it was in fact a direct reference to the Christian God.

So, while the word god may hold less meaning, in this case it DOES have a direct reference behind it.

Indeed. And it is very calous for people to completely fail to understand how this matters to some people, and how it is so clearly unconstitutional.
