Why the fire dept really does rock.
The fire which in the news is called the ranch fire finally made it over the ridge behind our house at about 5:30 this afternoon. it wasn't like roaring burning but with the wind kicking up it was threatening, and what made it worse for us is not one single fire truck or fire fighter was in our park defending our mobile homes, they spent over half the day putting out hot spots around the 5 million dollar homes that surround our little park up here in the boonies.
so I called 911. why should we not get equal treatment, about an hour later a battalion chief from the Vernon fire dept came up to check it out. so me and my bro told him there has been no one in this park all day. we deserve to have our homes defended too. 30 minuted later a rig from the Santa Fe? I think fire dept came up and they are gonna sit there all night watching it to make sure it never becomes a threat to the homes here.
After they came I got my digital cam and phone and took pictures and a movie with the camera. I am going to upload both soon. when I do I will repost. I feel much safer with at least a rig up here.
