Hi, I'm really hoping someone could help me out with this.
Last year, I bought both the small and large Yuuki Classic as my first set of cups. I have a medium-low cervix, so I wanted to see what size would work best. For the first few months, I started out with the small, but it always leaked no matter what I did, so I tried out the large and found that it works better as I can walk, sit, and sleep in it without leaking. However, when I exercise.....that's when I have a bloody mess.
I can't do lunges, squats, push-ups, ab crunches, or yoga without it leaking, but it works great when I'm just out-and-about.
I make sure to empty it before I start my exercises and that it's opened, sealed, and my cervix isn't hanging out of the cup, so I'm not sure why I leak only when I exercise. I purchased the Yuuki because I heard it was so firm that it was great for sports, so I thought it would definitely work for my exercises, but it doesn't.
So, I started thinking all sorts of things like....Could it be that my pelvic floor muscles are crushing the cup as I workout? Or it might be too firm that it doesn't flex with my body? Maybe the shape of the cup isn't right?
I was thinking about purchasing a Lena cup because I heard it is also a firm cup, but the shape is different. It's more rounded on the bottom instead of being narrow. Maybe it would hold better? I just don't know. I've been dealing with this for a year now and kept thinking I was doing something wrong, but now I'm for sure that the cup is just not the right one for me as I've tried to make it work. It works great, but just not when I exercise.
Any advice/cup suggestions? Note: I'm kind of a heavy bleeder.
