My cervix drops sooo low when using a menstrual cup. It's like it conforms into the cup and becomes very elongated. I started taking a few hour break from the cup when I was home just to let it return to normal.
I've started using sea sponges as a cup alternative, especially at night. If I can be home on my first and second days, sometimes I won't even use the cup. If I've got to work, I can usually use a sponge by day 3. I find them more comfortable than a cup when it comes to bladder pressure. There is a bit of a learning curve to using them.
I picked them up from a health food store in the body care section as 'makeup sponges' and found some good ones at a big box craft store, though I went to several before I found a good pack & they had the craft store smell which took several washings and air drying for a few days to dissipate. Both JoAnn's and Michael's have 40% off a single item coupons on their websites.
