Fit troubleshooting or time for a new cup?

Hi,

Lurked a while but never posted. Been using a DivaCup 1 owner for about 4 years, user for 3 (took a year off when I had my son). I'm 33 years old and I started off with the DC1 and it worked pretty well for me despite feeling a little too long sometimes. I mastered the punchdown fold, got it to pop open pretty easily and there were only a few times when I felt like I had to even give it an extra push up further to make sure it was well seated high enough.

After I had my son and started getting my period again, I wanted to try my DC1 to see if I really needed a different cup size after childbirth. It was working great for me for about 7 months and I thought there was no need to buy a new one. Then about 2 months ago, I started to have leaking issues. It just didn't feel right anymore, the strange thing is, it doesn't feel too small, if anything, it feels too long and I can't get it high enough. When this happens, I take it out and try to insert it again, but I just can't get it right anymore and after 4 or 5 tries, I'm dry, sore and defeated. Last month I gave up and just used pads instead.

I'm wondering if I need to do more fit troubleshooting, or if my DC1 and I just need to part ways. I used to be able to tell when it was in a good spot and I had a good fit, and now it's like I can't tell and I may or may not leak...it's a terrible anxiety. If I do need a new cup, I'm not even sure what to start looking for size-wise, except maybe something not so long?

I suppose that I could practice insertion/fit when I don't have my period, but I really don't have any ways to leak test then. Suggestions/tips? I just want to love my MC again! .
