I figured it out!!

A story I had to share and couldn't tell anyone else:

Since I started using my MeLuna, my period has gone from something I deal with, to something I greet and celebrate. While this could also be the hippie goddess mama side of me, I contribute a lot of it to using a cup.

UNTIL...I got an IUD on Tuesday. Which has been fine, but my doctor said no cup or tampons until next month when everything settles and my cervix isn't so traumatized from the insertion (it did not go easily). So I frantically ran to the store and picked up some pads, even shelling out for those new Always Infinity that are supposed to be the best.

I hate them. I hate having my period and having to use them. All I want is to be able to use my cup. I feel like a middle schooler just getting her period for the first time who doesn't know how to handle it. I forget to bring a new pair of underwear with me to the shower in the morning. I hate maneuvering so that I don't accidentally touch the pad to my underwear. I hate feeling like I'm wearing a diaper.

I was contemplating this morning: This is why people hate getting their periods. If it can cause me of all people to hate it so much, this is why everyone else does too. (Realistically I know there are a lot of other things that can make you hate your period, but roll with me here.) Because everyone who has gotten a period and wears pads has at one point forgotten to being a new pair of underwear with them to the bathroom for after a shower.

So to anyone who is contemplating using a cup but isn't sure: take the plunge. Are your periods not particularly crampy, just kind of an annoyance? Cups will turn your period from minor annoyance to something to be celebrated. Your mileage may vary.
