Diva cup almost always leaking?

OK so I have the residual slobber stuff, but my Diva cup also will actually leak a lot of times. Like it IS catching the majority of the blood, but it'll still start leaking, sometimes it's only a few minutes after I put it in and other times I'll have it in a few hours before it leaks. After the few hours it's only about 1/3-1/2 full when it leaks ( Read more... )

it could be that your cervix is only half in the cup so the other half is leaking down the side of the cup. sometimes a bit of twiddling/moving the cup around fixes this.

OR if it happens more during your heavier days then it's residual, it just looks more like leaking and less like spotting because your flow is heavier so it takes less time for the fresh blood to move down the vagina.

and yes, providing you haven't shifted the cup out of position, the leaking after a few hours when it's only 1/3 to 1/2 full it likely because your cervix is stealing some capacity, a wider round bottomed cup with high airholes like a Large Fleurcup, Large Si-bell, Large Mami, large Sckoon, XL Meluna etc will be able to sit around your cervix rather than underneath it.

Do you think that a large meluna may also work?(I was thinking of buying a medium and large soft whenever I have the money) I don't really wanna go too wide cause idk if it would fit.

Compare the dimensions of the cups you like to the one you have at http://sizecharts.livejournal.com/ or at any of the size charts at the Community FAQ. Use what you know and like/don't about your Diva to pick your next cup.

If you have the small Diva, the medium Meluna is 3mms narrower so I don't that would help and the large Meluna is only 1mm wider so I'm not sure that would make much difference.

I would consider the large Si-bell or the large Fleurcup, the Si-bell being very very soft.

Could it be that the Diva is too long for you on those leaky days? If so, have you tried flipping it inside out to shorten it?

Yeah I'm pretty certain that the cup is too long on some days at least cause I had it in one day and the BASE was sticking almost out, usually its just the stem. And it was really irritating to my urethra when it was like that so I finally took it out. And no I haven't tried doing that cause I still have the stem on it and i'm afraid it would poke me or flip back the other way and I couldn't get it out.
