shortest but widest cup?

I originally started using a Keeper close to 10 years ago.  It dry-rotted during my pregnancy with my first child, so I got a Large DivaCup when I started having AF again.  The problem now is that I've had three big babies and am really stretched out there (even the OBGYN says as much).  My Large DivaCup will not stay in place.  I have cut off the ( Read more... )

a large cup inside out can be a good solution if you need something shorter than most large sizes. i also need a wide one, i'm a virgin but have a very low cervix. i¨m using the large ladycup inside out and i've just recently noticed in the charts that the new brand iriscup, which mostly copied ladycup, has practically the dimensions of the inside-out one, 45x50.
there's nothing considerably wider than the diva though - be sure to do kegels! my grandma has recently started having incontinence:( and the other one who is like 10 years older has no problems *knock on wood* because she does kegels. so there are long-term benefits too:)
afaiu using a stiffer cup might also help, like the large lunette or meluna - i've heard these don't work well inside out though. try flipping your diva inside out to see whether it's already short enough (afaik it has the dimensions of the large lunette) or you need something even shorter.

OBGYN said Kegels won't help. It's not a pelvic floor issue. It's a stretched out vijayjay and opening. Would require plastic surgery to repair things, and I don't have $15,000 sitting around to spend on that. LOL

I look up the Iriscup.

the problem is that it's boycotted because of its similarities with the ladycup and it's also just as squishy from what i've read here.
do you also get leaks when it's full enough to be about to fall out? maybe the seal breaks and your muscles can't hold it well?

I only get leaks if it overflows. But last time it was that full, it was falling out just from the weight of the fluid in it and had not started leaking yet. I don't attempt using it overnight at all. :P

I usually get painful cramps if it's starting to get full, so that's my main clue that I need to empty it.

I don't get a seal per se. Definitely nothing with suction.

Maybe a shorter cup would be worn a bit higher, and be more likely to be kept in place by your pelvic floor muscles and not by the vaginal opening?

Personally, I love the Fleurcup. It has a rounded bottom, not a pointy one, that might help it stay inside. Plus, lots of capacity.

It's not wider than the Diva at the rim, but the base of the cup is definitely wider.

Here's Melissa's pic of the small Fleurcup side by side with a small Divacup.
