I completely agree. My father collects old tvs and radios and repairs them and its fun to watch these ancient machines come back to life. I always used to laugh at the TVs that had channel 1!
My absolute favourite show was a show that was only on one season (1990-91): Dracula the Series. It was on T1 21 (Satellite T1, transponder 21). I think it was on at 11 am or 11:30 am on Sat and then again on Sunday, but I can't remember the time. I used to watch it two weeks before the show aired properly. :) It was so much fun because I also was able to watch the little promos for the show during their minute of black (the last minute of the commercial break is for the local TV stations to put their commercials.)
I also would watch an entire week of Tiny Toon Adventures in one day, again a few weeks before the shows aired. (Remember I was only around 9 at the time.)
I also loved Quantum Leap, but my mother would not let me watch it on the satellite since we watched that as a family. :)
Also around this time the SciFi Channel was only just starting out and the local cable companies didn't have it. So I was able to watch all these old science fiction shows. I loved it! I miss the SciFi Channel. Since it became mainstream, it just doesn't have the same feel as it did in the early 90s. :(
