Men and Machine job

Apr 27, 2008 16:39

Last night was another campground job. We had a reasonable audience at least. This place (when we're indoors) doesn't usually get good crowds, and has acoustics like the proverbial gymnasium. It is all tile floor, cinder block walls, and plaster ceiling. By the end we had 4 adults and one sleeping boy. We ended up talking to them for a little while and they told us how they enjoyed us, and apologized for the lack of attendance. They went on to tell how much of a pain campground seasonal residents can be, complaining about how there isn't enough going on, and then refusing to show up at activities. We've heard this before from owners at other places too. Everyone holes up in their camper with their cable TV and internet. Owners have told us that they hear about it loud and clear whenever the wireless internet goes down. Somehow that just isn't my idea of camping. Next week Gettysburg KOA.
