Friday was the Classics Gala, and I do believe it was the best one ever. I'm not on the SACS executive this year, or even Classics courses, but it was still highly enjoyable. I got there just in time for salads, which had a tasty vinaigrette. Then there was roast pork and gravy for dinner, and dessert was some sort of raisin/apple pastry with cream. Oh, and I also had five glasses of wine over the course of the night. Fun! After dinner there was lots of dancing and chit chat, which was so awesome. I love dressing up and going out, because the chances to do so come along so, so infrequently.
There was a prizes raffle and I won a nice cranberry soap. I dislike eating the fruit, but I'm sure the soap is lovely ;x I shall have to try it out soon.
My brain was a little bit blah when I got home, so I tumbled into bed as soon as I stepped in the door (and changed into pyjamas). I woke up at, like.. 6:00, which was pretty lame. I bummed around bed for the next hour and a half, unable to get back to sleep. Went on the computer, updated my Facebook status to "Gnuh", turned off the computer and tried to get back to sleep. Since I didn't have any expectations of falling asleep, that's exactly what I proceeded to do. Oh, brain, why must you be so difficult?
Saturday I went to Sugar Mountain, stored up on Gummy Worms, Juiceberries, Coke Bottles and Reese's Pieces. Then I hopped the bus to Sabrina's house. We ate a full kit of Old El Paso tacos, which is probably my second favourite food ever (not even tacos in general, just Old El Paso. Their seasoning is like crack to me.) I think I had like, five and a half tacos. I've never tested my taco limit, because I always have these meals with my family. It's good to know I can stuff myself silly :D
We made ourselves comfortable on the futon bed in the basement, and watched Blindness. I'd heard mixed reviews about this movie, but I quite liked it. It was a different flavour of film, and I think I shall have to add the book to my ever-lengthening reading list. Sabrina went to bed at around midnight, but being the night owl that I am, I didn't go to sleep until 4:00. I watched Closer and an episode of MythBusters, because I don't get Showcase nor the Discovery Channel in my apartment.
Woke up today at around noon, and had a lovely eggs/ham/toast breakfast with Sabrina and her mom. Went to the mall with them for about an hour and then hopped the bus back downtown.
And here I am. :D Lazy Sundays, indeed.
