July Update

Another long lapse, sorry about that. So, what's happened since November? Well, the virus of course. Hubby & I were fortunate to be able to work from home. He is still full-time at home, and will be for the foreseeable future. As of June, my co-worker & I are alternating days at the office, and working from home on the other days. It seems to be working well so far.

May was a challenge. Very long story short - Meg had to have emergency surgery on May 1st for an intestinal blockage. They were in time to prevent a dangerous situation, and the surgery went well. After a week in the hospital (so hard not to be able to visit her), she came home. In a way, it worked out well, because we were both home to take care of her. It took a few weeks for her to be well and strong enough to go back to her apartment. Meanwhile, in the first week of June she started her seminary classes.

Oh, yes, that's since my last post, isn't it? Meg has been accepted to Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. They have a new program combining mostly online classes with internship at a church, so the students complete the Master of Divinity degree in 2 years instead of 4. It's very intense and will be quite a challenge but I think she is up for it. On top of everything else, at the first of July, she moved to a new apartment to be closer to the church where she is interning. What fun that was in the hottest weather of the year!

On a purely "me" note, the time at home has enabled me to do a lot of stitching. I completed the Christmas gift for my step-daughter and the framer called yesterday to say it's ready. I'll post a picture of it later. I'm still working on my large project, and started another smaller one (the same size as the Ranger I did) which I hope to complete in time for Meg's ordination in 2 years. It's "The Musician" by Tatyana Haustova (see photo below). Right now, I'm working on all that dark sky.

I think that's enough for now. Hope you all are managing okay through all this, staying safe and following all the precautions.
