Well I haven't really been online at all since saturday while I was here at work. I checked my mail but that was about it.
What have I been doing? Well for some odd reason I felt the need to find something to watch on TV saturday night. I kept trying til 2am....no luck. So if the networks want to know why no one watches TV it's because there is nothing but crap on these days.
So instead I watched Lain again. Remember that anime I wanted to buy? Well I did, just the first dvd of four so far it is really weird. In a good way weird, but still weird. Looks like this might be where that lame movie where everyone who visits a web site dies... I forget the name, got it's idea from....or the other way around? I have now watched it three times and I like it. It doesn't have any HOT
See Spike characters but it is just weird enough to really appeal to me.
Sunday I .... read and sat out with the family. Read some more then watched Cary Grant movies. I really like Cary Grant movies. I really Like Cary Grant. I would have been one of the ones in love with him way back then. I bought Touch of mink (with Doris Day) and Mr blandings builds his dream home (along with Guess who's coming to dinner) on sunday, when I went to pick up 'Bedroms and Hallways'. I finished up the evening with Operation Petticoat.
So that means that in my quest to have everything good that CG did I now have....
# Father Goose (1964)
# Charade (1963)
# That Touch of Mink (1962)
# Grass Is Greener, The (1960)
# Operation Petticoat (1959)
# Affair to Remember, An (1957)
# To Catch a Thief (1955)
# Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948)
# Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)
# Penny Serenade (1941)
# Philadelphia Story, The (1940)
# His Girl Friday (1940)
# Bringing Up Baby (1938)
I think #I Was a Male War Bride (1949) will be the next one I buy...or maybe Houseboat.
I still haven't watched Bedrooms and Hallways yet. I guess I am saving it for a time when I won't be interupted?
Yesterday I messed around with a picture cd making program. You can add effects and sound sort of like making your own screensaver except you can see it on a dvd player. It takes a long time to render though so I gave up after about two hours (47% done). I'll split the pictures up into 4 or so cds and see if that helps. I have 471 pictures from the trip and so there are a lot for the program to create effects with, I am using the peel off effect. I also want to add mucis but it's hard to find something we all like. Anyway I ended up just putting the pictures on a cd and we all watched them on the new dvd player we bought that will slideshow jpg pics from a cd. It was fun even without the captions and music. I am going to see if I can get something in a store here that will do the same thing. This software is $50 US and you download it, I like having cds. I wonder if there is a Linux program that will do that? I think I have settled with the Songs for Native americans that Robbie Robertson did. Wish I had been able to get that instramental PowWow music cd I wanted in
Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. I wonder if I can find the piece of paper where I wrote down the title? Doubt it.
Went a whole three days without watching
Cowboy Bebop. I was really hard, I doubt I'll last another day.
I have had a new author suggested to me. Kathy Reichs. She writes mysterys with a twist. The lead character is Temperance Brennan - Forensic Anthropologist and the writer is also a forensic anthrolopologist. I am picking up the first one 'Deja Dead' today. I am a huge fan of forensics.... if you can be a fan of such a icky field. I enjoyed John Douglas's books so I am going to give this a try.
I might also buy the next copy of Lain (but I doubt it as I have spent too much this weekend on movies), anyway I owe Sheila $100 for Mum & Dads anniversery present.
Pirates of the Caribbean opens this week. Can't wait. I love johnny Depp he has to be the coolest actor around. This looks like a fun movie too....if we are to ignore how
yummy Depp is;)
