Christmas day - slept away
I lost Christmas Day completely. Fell asleep 6-7am Christmas Day, woke up the next day, Boxing Day, 7-8am, after 25 hours of sleep. It's a new personal record. I passed the old one (see the "
Nov 25" entry) by 4 hours.
Copy protected CD
I picked up the "John Coltrane -
Blue Train" CD when I was christmas shopping with Marius. It turned out to be no CD at all, but a copy protected excuse of a CD; that is, no CD Audio at all, at least not according to
Sony's Red Book Standard. At least it plays with it's own version of player. But that probably means I have to find some special ripper software before I can copy it over to my MiniDisc-player. Just a lot of extra effort. That's all. When was it illegal to copy media you've paid for to another player media you'd rather use? It's not. At least not for personal use. So I will have no trouble convincing myself that it's not unethical to do so. On the other hand, buying this "CD" was a matter of ethics since I've enjoyed the "Blue Train"-mp3 a lot. :)
