Universal Orlando might not be the Magic Kingdom but most of us still think of it as one of the happiest and safest places on Earth. That might be changing…as all new haunted houses and a completely reinvented street experience welcomes visitors to Halloween Horror Nights 22. This Halloween one of the nation’s most anticipated haunted house experiences reaches for the stars again with some of pop cultures most horrifying names including The Walking Dead, Silent Hill and Alice Cooper.

This year, guests visiting Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights 22 will encounter such ground-breaking and horrifying new  haunted houses featuring movie quality sets. Four of the haunted houses are based on some of pop culture’s biggest icons:
  • The Walking Dead - AMC’s hit series inspires a haunted attraction full of zombies bent on mayhem and infecting the unwary. Remember: there is safety in numbers (and when being chased by walkers, you only have to be faster than the person behind you)!
  • Silent Hill - The popular video game and film franchise comes to life in terrifying, if eerie and desolate, detail. Here ash falls from the sky and the physical laws of nature don’t apply except one: Survival.
  • Penn & Teller - Magic’s bad boys twisted reality with some terrifically horrific results. It seems they’ve nuked Las Vegas (accidentally…we think). Now not only is everything that glitters not gold (or even neon), it’s probably fatally radioactive.
  • Alice Cooper - The shock rocker welcomes visitors to his nightmares…and theirs. Follow Steven (the iconic character from many of Cooper’s works) and come face-to-face with a myriad of tormentors threatening your already decaying sense of sanity.

Along with these frightening pop culture experiences, the intrepid visitor will also encounter three more haunted houses with more traditional scary flavors. These original scares include:
  • House of Horrors - Meet Universal’s classic movie monsters. Torn from the silver screen in a flash of lightning they have been resurrected and are taking back what is rightfully theirs…your screams.
  • Dead End - It’s said that if enough people believe in something it becomes real. Apparently a LOT of people believe countless horrific  acts occurred in the old Hartford Mansion. Now visitors can discover the truth…that the curse on this stately home is far worse than any ghost story ever told.
  • Catedral de Caementum Animus - This striking gothic cathedral is undergoing a building-wide architectural refurbishment by day. When the sun goes down, however, many of the gargoyles come to life to fulfill their mission of protecting the church from interlopers and intruders of all kinds.

If you need a break from the haunted houses, why not take in a show? The popular Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure returns for another year of skewering the biggest names in entertainment at Halloween Horror Nights 22 while the brand new 20 Penny Circus brings magic for people with questionable taste to an unsuspecting audience.

Last, but certainly not least, is this year’s completely re-invented street experience. The name - Legions of Horror - kind of says it all but if you still thirst for more details we can tell you that hordes of vampires, barbaric warriors and a female prison gang wielding chainsaws are just some of the hellions inhabiting the shadows of the Halloween Horror Nights park. Beginning with the Iniquitus who summon the Dark Legions into this world and bid them feast, things only get worse. Legendary beasts and vampires prey upon the unsuspecting. Warriors seek revenge. Prisoners escape the bonds of death and their prison to wreak havoc and sow fear among the living. All of them gather together with the traditional Halloween ghosts and goblins to feast and frighten anyone who gets too close.
