“As experts of scaring people every Halloween, we are committed to doing everything we can to frighten our visitors in new and exciting ways each year,” said Amber Arnett, a board member of America Haunts, a professional association of elite haunted houses. “This video series demonstrates the dedication we have in making our haunts a place where visitors’ wildest imaginations come to life.”
This October the experts are taking the curious, and adventurous, behind the scenes of some of the nation’s top haunted attractions in a new series YouTube videos. America Haunts: The Tricks Behind the Trade is five part series which kicks off 5 October 2012 with a look inside
The Darkness, St. Louis’ legendary haunted house. Each week, viewers will tour a different haunted attraction to peek behind the curtain and see how the masters create everything from creepy environments to realistic-looking monsters. These scare experts, including craftsmen, engineers, computer programmers and makeup artists, aren’t just revealing high-tech secrets, either, they are also showing off the low tech techniques used to create terrifying experiences for thousands of visitors during each Halloween season.
Each video premieres Friday morning at 9 a.m. on the
America Haunts YouTube Channel. All are free to view and star the amazing talents who bring their, and your, nightmares to life every October.
