Grimm on NBC.
It’s hard to believe but vampires are not the only supes on television. In fact, Grimm, which debuted a second season on Monday night, doesn’t have a regularly recurring vampire, just some guest actors who used to be vamps. What Grimm does have that is particularly appealing to role players is a dizzying array of monsters wrapped not in the traditional fairy tales that inspired them but a modern day police procedural.
The first episode of Grimm Season 2 gets things started with a bang. No, not a gun shot. The bang of violence in a shipping container and a fight at the home of Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giumtoli) Portland, Oregon’s only Grimm and cop. Well, maybe not the only Grimm…
Viewers are introduced to some fascinating creatures this episode including the brutal, blood thirsty catlike Mauvais Dentes creatures from which the episode draws its Bad Teeth name. Also helping to kick the second season of Grimm off are guest stars Catherine, the Hexenbeast, (Jessica Tuck, better known as True Blood‘s Nan Flanagan) and an as yet unnamed French Royal (James Frain, Franklin from True Blood). And they are gust as devious as truebies remember.
If you are a preternatural fan or role player and have never watched Grimm, now is the time to start. Season 2 looks to be even more fantastic, mysterious and action packed than Season 1. Don’t believe us? Here’s a first look at what’s coming in Grimm this season.
