Hotel Transylvania joins other Sony Animation hits including The Smurfs, Open Season and Monster House among others. In addition to Hotel Transylvania, Sony Animation has 13 titles in development at this time.

Tartakovsky, a 20-year veteran of animation whose work on the Cartoon Network’s series Star Wars: Clone Wars and Samurai Jack have earned him three Emmy Awards and a dozen Primetime Emmy nominations,  is making his theatrical animation debut with Hotel Transylvania. Tartakovsky was also a producer and director for the hit series Powerpuff Girls on Cartoon Network. Fans attending the Hotel Transylvania panel in San Diego on Thursday, July 12, 2012 will be hearing from and have the opportunity to question the creative force behind four hit animated series - Star Wars: Clone Wars, Dexter’s Laboratory, Sym-biotic Titan and Samurai Jack - which have helped shape Cartoon Network.

This is Dracula’s daughter?

Hotel Transylvania, perhaps to the surprise of some viewers, is a daddy-daughter tale where the worst thing that can happen to Dracula’s (who sounds like Adam Sandler) little ghoul does. On her 118th birthday, Mavis (voiced by Selena Gomez) falls in love with a human! Adding to the hilarity. she falls in love in front of some of Dracula’s best friends including Frankenstein (voiced by Kevin James) and the Mummy, his wife (voiced by Ceel-lo), the Invisible Man (voiced by David Spade) , the Werewolf family and more.

Catering to these legendary monsters is what Hotel Transylvania is famous for. It’s the one place where monsters and their families can live it up and be the monsters they are without human interference. When an ordinary guy, that is to say a human, stumbles onto Hotel Transylvania everything is put at risk, even though (especially?) when love is in the air….
