On Friday, WonderCon attendees can experience episodes of The Secret Circle on the big screen. If you aren’t familiar with The Secret Circle it is the newest series from executive producer Kevin Williamson (
The Vampire Diaries) and based on the book series by
L.J. Smith (who also authored the Vampire Diaries books). The Secret Circle chronicles the story of a young girl who discovers not only that she is witch and part of a secret coven. Oh, she’s also the key to unlocking a centuries old battle between good and evil. Fans attending WonderCon will be treated to an exclusive premiere screening of the upcoming Curse episode which the rest of us won’t get to see until 22 March, 2012.
The following day Warner Bros. will present the DC Nation Special Video Presentation and Q&A. DC Nation is a new one hour block of children’s programming starring some of the most beloved and legendary heroes from the pages of DC Comics and the DC Universe and brought to the small screen by the talented directors, writers and producers from Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network. Superhero fans attending WonderCon on Saturday will be treated to exclusive video content filled with plenty of sneak peeks from the new DC Nation block which is anchored by The Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice. In addition to the exclusive video content, an all-star panel featuring Young Justice producers Brandon Vietti (Batman Under the Red Hood) and Greg Weisman (Gargoyles) , Green Lantern: The Animated Series producers Jim Krieg (Ben 10: Alien Swarm) and Giancarlo Volpe (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and DC animated shorts producers Lauren Faust (The Powerpuff Girls, My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic) and Ben Jones (Batman: The Brave and the Bold) will take the stage to answer questions during a moderate Q&A session. Prior to this special event, the DC Nation guests will be signing autographs at the DC Entertainment Booth #501.
Although they are not listed as participants in the Warner Bros. events, artists Todd Nauck (Young Justice) and Jim Lee, who is also co publisher of DC Entertainment, will also be attending WonderCon this year.
If you can’t attend WonderCon 2012 is being held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA this year while San Francisco’s Moscone Center, which has been home to WonderCon for the past six years, in undergoing renovations. Don’t expect the change in venue to reduce interest in the show even though WonderCon may feel less crowded this year. the Anaheim Convention Center is the largest convention center on the West Coast as well as one of the largest convention venues in the world, meaning WonderCon 2012 can be bigger, better and more popular than ever before without feeling overcrowded or resulting in huge lines and long delays. If you haven’t attended WondercCon before, 2012 is shaping up as a really great year for preternatural fans to go.
