back in madrid. sadly the 6.5 hour bus ride to bilbao was not entirely worth it.. we spent roughly 18 hours in the city. enough time to shop (apparently hadnt had enough) and eat and negotiate the vague hotel map with defective legend. we were able to stop at the culinary school where i was soon informed that i am paying for school through the nose.. 4000 euro/year in bilbao.
we then headed to san sabastian for the beach. i wasnt entirely thrilled to spend the day on a beach in sleet with nude basques (very whithered old women with pizza-cutter nipples, i had predicted, and i was right). either way, the weather turned out to be nice. the water was as cold as the oregon coast, but the beach was plenty warm. after the beach i did manage to flood the bathroom in my parents room with the jury-rigged shower head in the 2x2 stall.
um. yeah we just got back about an hour ago and were about to pick up some last minute souvenirs. then argentina cafe again, then shooters for a night that will be undoubtedly branded in my mind for a long time.
tomorrow --> home at eight (friday) to spend the weekend jet lagged and wide awake, licking my wounds.
