Hey everyone. No nothing dramatic has happened since the last time I wrote but lets just say some things have changed since I last posted.
Well I was at training yesterday as usual when my coach offered me and Yvonne nomination forms to be in the state squad for badminton. I was very surprised because I didn't think I was that good, but then she clarified that her team was in need of more girls so we had reached her standard enough to be in it. Thats okay, I don't mind at all.
The whole state thing has really got me thinking however. What exactly am I going to be when I grow up? When I leave high school and progress onto university or an apprenticeship, what will I be doing? In all honesty, I have no clue. But what I do know is that I won't be an international badminton player. I love playing essentially, but for it to be my profession that would be too much. Constant playing and training, and if I lose too many times its all over and I'll have to start again somewhere new.
Thats why I think Yvonne won't be playing badminton much longer.
She'll be in Year 11 soon, and with that great responsibility comes the exams. Upper school is so busy. She won't have time for badminton anymore. I know this already; I've seen quite a few drop out when they turned 15. It's hard to balance sport and studies in such little time. If she wants to leave, its fine with me because I understand.
But I don't want her to go. Of course she hasn't said anything like this to any of us; from Samson, but I can tell. She takes her grades very seriously; her whole family is too. I wish I could be like that sometimes.
Oh well. It's her choice.
However, she does know what her profession is to be. An architect. It was a suggestion my father has been ushering onto me sometimes; because it gives good money. Is everything about that? No. But now I'm back to where I started; confused.
I think thats all for today. Oh wait, a few weeks ago I just randomly went out to the shops and bought Final Fantasy XII half price! Yeah, its heaps random. I donno...its okay so far but its pretty confusing since its an actual ps2 game!
