Also, I learned today that one of my very first teachers, Sister Anthonita Porta, passed away from an aortic aneurysm. She was a beloved Dominican nun who taught at the Montessori Children's House I attended. She was instrumental in bringing the Montessori method to America. She was truly a pioneer and she will be missed by her friends, family, students, and the Montessori Community.
