Alright kiddos...sorry for the lack of updates. I've been super busy. In fact, right now I should be working on a project for work, but as long as my supervisor stays in his office, I should be ok. Anyways, I hope everything's been going great for all of you. I've got bunches and bunches of news, so here we go...
First, we did great at the NHI Southwest Great Debate. We're the Champs for the 3rd year in a row. It's great. We also got first place in Oratory, Mock, and Extemp, 2nd in Adjudication, and All-state in CX and Adjudication. It was awesome....I'm super proud of the kids and the trainers that went. I'm glad that out of the 3 trips, that I was able to go on that one. Good stuff.
I went to a catechist meeting yesterday for the first time all summer, and I've got to say....sweet merciful crap is it going to be a rough year. They're making all these rules and procedures and....well whatever...I'm going to make sure my kids have a great time and learn. So yeah. Other than that, I need to get to Mass and Confession...but aside from that, things are great.
Things with my lady friend are awesome. We see each other all the time....I mean all the time, and we never get sick of each other. It's like something new each time. I love it. She's so incredibly awesome, and we appreciate each other soooooo much. Awesome. Yeah....I'm super happy.
SWEET HEREAFTER UPDATE:
Sorry to everyone who was planning on going to our show this past Tuesday. The circumstances were out of our hands. We really wanted to have the show go on, but Greg from Time and Distance explained what was going on and why they really had to go home. The good news is that we're rescheduling for September 1, which is a Thursday, so please try to clear your schedules for that. Also, I know it's late notice, but we're playing tonight at Kristoph's at 9:30. We're going to start kinda late, take a fairly long break, and play again even later. So whether you're having an early or late night, stop by. We'll most likely still be playing. Lastly, God willing, Dan and I are going to demo 3 or 4 of our songs today. We'll put them on a CD, and if it sounds good enough, we'll make more copies...if not, then we'll wait til we record with our good friend Fernie. But yeah...you should be able to get some of our music in your greedy little hands pretty soon. Neat. So yeah...that's all for now.
Other than that, make sure you go out and get the new JamisonParker album "Sleepwalker" and the new Rufio album "The Comfort of Home".
They're both amazing. Good stuff.
Oh yeah, and this weekend go out and watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm all excited about that biznatch.
Also, if you get a chance on Saturday, it's Yarbrough's last show. I know it's pretty damn sad for such a good band to break up, but stuff happens. But yeah, I'm pretty sure they're playing with Soma on Saturday at the House of Rock 'n' Roll. If I'm wrong, someone please comment and correct it. So yeah...support those guys if you can.
Well folks, I think that's about all I've got for now. As soon as anything else comes up, I'll let you all now. Just remember to smile and keep on swimming. Peace out homies.
