best friends - [above all others] former friends - [gone astray] hesitating - [what getting too close may bring] sympathy - [an umbrella in the rain] trusting - [the good in you] avoidance - [isolate the problem]
Xion's first and one of her best friends. From the day that she finally awoke from her own zombie-like state, the two of them became fast friends in the Organization. They fought trial after trial together along with Axel. At first anyway. Only when Xion began to question her existence did everything come undone. Not because she lost faith in her friendship but rather because she didn't want to be the cause of him fading and had always valued him more than herself. If she was a poison to his existence, then she would rid of herself for his sake. Even if it was a temporary fix. Even knowing that eventually he would have to return to Sora. The short of it was that all her decisions revolved around him. But she hadn't had the heart (fabricated or non-existent) to open up the reasons why things had to happen as they had. And so, she left him in the dark until the very end-- and by then, he couldn't understand the entirety of it anyway because his memories had been scattered and shredded to ribbons.
Seeing him again in Haven, Xion was at first in denial. There were a good number of reasons she had gathered to disprove the idea that it could be him, but it all fell away the night she met him at the park. Now, she's ever hesitating with him. Not sure if she wants him to remember-- if not for wondering if things might happen again (which she's at least considered otherwise due to being in Anne's body) then because of all the miserable memories involved there. She's also honestly really confused that he seems like he's vaguely grasped an idea of who she is-- although it's honestly written all over her face that she knows him. Because she's not used to the intensity of having real emotions and they bleed right through.
Really, Xion wants to run away and not associate with him at all for his sake. So, he doesn't have to remember the painful truths. But she relents because she feels like she owes him. She has an unparalleled guilt complex with him. For hiding all she hid and for forcing upon him her end. And that makes her fold very easily to him and follow through with his requests, even if she feels like she shouldn't. She's pretty much set on conforming to his whims to make him happy because she feels like she owes him.
And part of her, of course, selfishly wants to follow anyway. Wants things back the way they were. Because no matter what, she will still always think of him as her best friend. Because he never ever did wrong to her. And so she will tend to hold his thoughts and wishes above herself.
Former BFF, Xion's all sorts of complicated with you.
