My review of BATMAN (The 1989 film, not the dude.)
Well, it's a little bit of a cop-out here cause to tell you the truth I couldn't even watch the whole thing.
Yes that's right. I watched about an hour of it, hour and a half tops, then just had to switch the damn thing off cause it was SO. DAMN. PAINFUL.
I wasn't expecting anything epic, by a long shot. I expected the 80's hair and generally twattery and Nicholson basically playing the same damn guy he plays in all his films, sure. But what I wasn't expecting was the sheer bloody awful experiance of watching Keating piss boiling liquid fail all over the character of Bruce Wayne / Batman.
He wasn't an especially bad Batman, it's hard to take any incarnation of Batman particularly seriously anyway, but I honestly couldn't stand watching the pube-headed jerk flail around and pout for one minute longer. Thats not who Bruce Wayne is, to me. And wtf was up with those glasses?
In fact, I don't even care.

I turned off around the point where he was trying to 'come out' as Batman to that annoying photographer woman... it was either that or choke on my own bitter disbelief. And that would have taken slightly longer than pressing the off button.
I have to concede that Nicholson's Joker wasn't actually that bad. I found him to be a very funny and interesting character, if somewhat of a dick. I really did want to watch more of his scenes, if only to see for myself if he would turn out to be as much of an ass as I've heard on other forums. I heard that he turns out to be a bit of a coward, and practically begs Batman not to hit him by the end of it.
I was desperate to see this for myself so I can use it if it ever DOES kick off between me and the Ledger-hater at work.
