As for a slow build, as long as there's a good payoff in the end, not that it'd be a problem with you. :)
A thousand years of emotions coming back at once, yeah, that'd hurt.
As for Sue, took a look back at Sky, & there's the prophecy, her seeming to be playing her own game and not being Their biggest fan & that bit about Santana being incomplete as well with the warning about blue- more things to be set in motion?
Yeah, I'd imagine that'd Finn finds the whole reality not cooperating with destiny thing rather frustrating.
Yep, she is, & I took that question that way, which is what I'm guessing has Them so worried, as from the perspective of TPTB, people wanting something else or starting to question them can be a Very Bad Thing, particularly if those people are as powerful as Quinn & have a prophecy tied into them are the ones doing the questioning, with Quinn & Rachel's relationship, Quinn's soul returning, & Santana's prodding helping to get that ball rolling if I'm putting the clues together correctly.
Yeah, I got the date, but just because fallout shelters & the devices that prompted their creation haven't been invented yet doesn't mean that they'd be any less of a good investment given the levels of firepower that could be thrown around if Quinn or Finn lose it, or They decide to take more direct action. Then again, given the date, They might try their hand at biological warfare instead, so perhaps the locals would be better served by investing in mil-spec NBC prospective gear & heavy-duty antibiotics, never mind that they haven't been invented yet, either. ;)
Holidays were ok, not really my favorite time of the year. Hope yours went well.
To change the subject a bit, some bad news from the TCA panel- remember when we were speccing about the worst case scenarios for S4- afraid they might just be coming true, as a Fox exec there said that although there won't be a spin-off, several of the graduating seniors are going to continue to be part of the show, including Rachel (poor Lea) :o... ontd_glee has it here http://ontd-glee.livejournal.com/1560385.html
On a hopefully more cheerful note, what do you think of the NFL playoffs so far?
Basically sent this to a friend, so I'm just going to copy/paste my scenarios as to what Lea Michele would be doing in season 4: Yeah, I mean unless they do a OTH and jump a few years into the future, everyone and their mother is going to be screaming abuse at Ryan Murphy. I swear to God if Rachel Berry's final lines aren't along the lines of "see ya, bye" then it will be the greatest character assassination on Earth.
But let's go over the different scenarios for Rachel Berry being there for season 4:
- Worse case scenario: she fails senior year/has to repeat it. I could see Ryan Murphy coming up with this scenario because a) IT IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT (and therefore it's entirely possible) and b) it keeps Lea Michele on the show, and no Lea Michele = no Broadway credibility = no Glee.
- Scenario 2: equally horrible, Rachel chooses to stay with Finn in Lima. Likely because hey, this is a sexist show, and all female opinions are wrong and should never be spoken out loud. Strong female characters don't exist.
- Scenario 3: à la One Tree Hill, we find ourselves 5 years in the future. I'd buy into this scenario providing it's done right. OTH is probably the show who successfully managed that jump - done badly, you're in a situation like Bones, who completely dropped the ball. Tricky and you're contingent on keeping most of the cast, which is difficult.
- Scenario 4: Majority of the cast (let's say there's 12, so that would 6 + 1) stays. Tricky and unlikely because this cast ties into each other. It also really depends on who the "glue" on the show is (based on Tshirtgate, it's not Dianna since there wasn't unanimous support - if she was the ring leader, the cast wouldn't have been so silent that night).
Dianna has been increasingly vocal about getting out of Glee, so I maintain that if she could buy out her contract, she probably would. Not sure what her salary is - 30,000 per episode? Give or take? She doesn't have a ton of endorsements right now so buying it out might hit her account right now but in the long term, she might think she'll benefit more from it.
Lea's in a sort of catch-22 because her job security is Glee/Broadway, but she also wants to be seen as an actress. But she wants Broadway, too - as I said before, everyone and their mother knows that one day Lea Michele will go back to Broadway. But Lea needs Broadway to remember her, and one thing which does that is Glee.
- Scenario 5: there is no season 4/it gets canceled sometime throughout. I'M PRAYING THIS HAPPENS and with the way the ratings are doing it could happen. Glee is suffering. You know things are bad when Lea Michele's vocal chords - when they're actually used- are not saving the show.
Re: play-offs: go Pats, hate Tebow, thank god the Jets are out, go 49ers. That's about it. Your thoughts?
Had quite the little posting party at ontd_glee about it- so far, Naya, Chris, & Cory have been confirmed as coming back (with plenty of Lea pimping Finchel thrown in, ugh)- nothing so far on Dianna, Amber, Mark, Harry, or Heather, though general consensus among specs there & elsewhere are that Dianna & Mark are probably leaving, since RIB seem at a loss what to do with their characters, while there's a vague spoiler that Quinn learns her post-HS fate, whatever it may be, in 3x11...
Haven't heard anything about Dianna wanting out, but wouldn't be surprised considering what she's been given to work with, hasn't mentioned the show on twitter & hasn't popped up many of the PR junkets. Her contract's one of those standard 6/7-year contracts- not sure what sort of buyout would apply if she wanted to quit as opposed to being dropped by the producers, but it could be a lot of money, although she & the other Gleeks other than Lea & Chris get a bit over 40k/ep according to the last articles I've seen. There's also some rumors in the comments at ontd_glee that Mark & Amber wouldn't mind leaving to concentrate on music.
Re your scenarios, I don't see 1 happening, but 2 seems depressingly likely to happen, likely mixed with something causing the NYC plans to go sideways to try to disguise RM's sexism & penchant for character assassination- maybe Rachel getting suspended for trying to rig the election was to set this up as well... If done right, 3 would be the best option, but this is RIB we're talking about, & even OTH's become more & more contrived as it keeps dragging on (that show should have ended w S6 IMO) Alas, 5 is also unlikely to happen since there's enough ratings & banked success plus related revenue streams to allow it to limp on for another season. One more possibility that people are speccing about is Glee doing a split narrative in S4, but that could turn into a real mess.
Re playoffs- well, it was kind of funny seeing the Stealers get Tebowed the way they did in OT, but hope he & the Broncos go down hard next week.
