We opened!
It went surprisingly well...save a few minor things. We've had two days off since our second performance so I hope everyone isn't out of the groove.
Even though we just opened, our closing dates our approaching rapidly. I dread the show ending because that means I'll have more time on my hands until I find something else. I went online scouting out internships in DC for dramaturgy/literary management. It's another aspect of theater that I would interested in besides acting. Of course all the deadlines were in March. Dammit. It's looking like I'm going to have to wait till positions for 2011 start opening up. I hope I qualify.
I have to be fluent in another language though, preferably German or French...mainly German. I wonder if Spanish would be acceptable? I'm not sure how much Spanish theater is in need of translation...
It's times like these that I really wish I applied myself in college. Not that I was a mess, I actually did really well...but I don't think I have a competitive GPA (3.5). It's good. Just good.
Not that MFA's are looking for a 4.0, but if I didn't get an MFA...I dunno. I was talking with Jason the another afternoon over lunch at our slanted poor excuse for a dining room table and I said that I might be interested in careers leaning toward health awareness. He encouraged me to keep thinking about it.
Because it would be nice to have at least one job with some sort of security.
But I guess for now it's sort of exciting not knowing what's going to come next.
