Had a pretty laid-back, quiet weekend. Saturday, we slept in and had some little errands to run like dropping off the recycling and getting cat food. We rented
Thor for $1 at the Blockbuster Express kiosk in the store so we watched that Saturday evening. It was pretty good.
Sunday, I agreed to get up early and go down with Love to his parent’s for Sunday breakfast. Normally, they hit a little Mom-and-Pop diner down by their house, but since his Mom just got out of the hospital Friday from her knee replacement surgery, we just went to their home instead and his brother and us brought breakfast fixings. We brought our waffle maker, mix and maple syrup and his brother brought eggs, bacon and OJ. Everyone had a nice breakfast and his folks were pleased I came down. (Normally, he goes down there so early I don’t go. Mornings and I don’t get along very well and since they’re like 45 minutes away, to be there around 8am would mean a 6:30am wake-up time for me. No thank you! LOL This morning, we got there around 9:30am plus I used our extra hour to good advantage - sleeping!)
After we got back, I took a nap. I was kinda tired. We made some leftovers for dinner, watched some TV, remembered we needed to return Thor so ran over to the supermarket at like 8:40pm, me in my PJ bottoms. Oh well. My belly button was too sore to try to put pants back on so to hell with it.
My belly button continues to be irritatingly sensitive and ouchy. It’ll get better eventually. Just makes outings a pain in the ass and sitting for any period of time in pants HURTS. (The drive to and from Love’s parents was done with my pants unzipped and folded down away from my belly. Hey, you do what you have to do.)
This weekend also saw 30 days post-op. Weird to think it’s been a month. In some ways, it feels like months ago and in others, only a couple weeks. I’m definitely in the “tired of healing” stage though where I’m just ready to get on with my life again, but still tender and weak enough that it reminds me I’ve still got a ways to go.
Weather was beautiful this weekend. We had a nice cool front come in so breezy, less humidity and mid 70′s during the day. Just lovely. Hope it stays this way though of course, the odds are low. This IS Florida after all and many years I’ve worn shorts on Christmas.
Anyway, that’s about that. A little down right now. We’re broke from rent and the medical bills keep coming in. Jeez, that’s a whole post on it’s own but damn, it’s weighing on me very heavily right now. But anyway, that’s for another day.
