Into Autumn
Belated Mabon Blessings and belated Autumn wishes. Clearly, I'm a bit behind. (I haven't even gotten around to making a new, fall theme yet.) Sadly, I've been plagued with the Nose From Hell. Sometime Friday night, my nose started running and I started sneezing. Took some benadryl figuring it would help with the problems plus I could get some sleep because it always makes me drowsy anyway.

No such luck. I spend all of the night tossing and turning. Woke up Saturday morning and the really bad nose turned into a living nightmare. My nose wasn't just running, it was gushing. Within a few hours, I had used two packages of tissues, my nose and upper lip were chapped and red, I'd taken two claritins, two echinesea, four MSM's and it hadn't slacked in the slightest. At all. I don't think I've ever in my life had my nose so terribly not respond to anything. By the time I went to bed, I had taken two more MSM's and more benadryl just out of absolute desperation. (And drank several glasses of OJ and had some chicken noodle soup.) We had run out to get my vitamins and some beads for a project in the afternoon but that was more then I could endure and I came home and passed out for a couple hours. It is absolute misery to not be able to stop your nose, to have the awful, cloying sinus drip down the back of your throat, to have to sneeze constantly (something I loathe more then I can explain; sneezing is so horrible I hate it passionately) and to actually be sick to your stomach from the repeated tensing to blow your nose.

Went to bed pretty early last night and slept most of the night, only waking up a few times. I found that when I hadn't moved at all for an extended period of time, my nose cleared up, but if I rolled over or moved my head at all, I could feel it literally rush back into my nose so swiftly, my eyes would tear.

Hellbeasts (the downstairs neighbor kids) woke me up with some annoying jingling bell noise but I managed to nod back off until someone started vacuuming out their car in the parking lot and the shrill whine was too much to sleep through. I'm still tired - that kind of fatigue you get when your body is fighting off something or another - and my nose is still bugging me but no where near as bad as yesterday. Any normal day, I'd consider the state it's in annoying, but after yesterday, it's relatively half-way decent. My poor lips are badly chapped, my face is all red and dried out and I'm not sure if I just had the single worst allergy experience of my life (weed counts were high yesterday) or if it's some strange quasi-cold. Normal colds for me tend to come with sore throats which I didn't have, and fevers, which when I checked yesterday, I was only a few tenths above normal for me. Though today, Love says his throat is sore. So who knows what's going on.

It's a wasted weekend all-in-all and though it's formally Autumn, it's still 93F outside. We're also broke, so despite the fact that it's our anniversary (eight years) we won't be doing anything, going anywhere or having dinner or whatever. Sucks. Bad enough to be broke but then to be sick on top of it? Bah. Couldn't even run out to Disney this weekend, but I guess given how miserable I was yesterday and still not feeling well today, it's probablly better we didn't.

The words are starting to swim on the page, so I think that's my cue to wrap up. Hope everyone's having a better Autumnal weekend then I am around here.
