Taking Care of Love
Well, Love woke up this morning and realized what I had said all along. To wit, it was far too soon to go back into work today. Having woken up, realized he was still in a lot of pain, can't eat solid food for another day or two, and that his face was still quite swollen finally clued him in that a full day at work just wasn't going to happen.
He is, however, doing a lot better after more rest and babying today and is planning on heading back tomorrow. No real choice at this point. I'm glad he took today to rest up more but jeez...we're going to be three days (!!) short on pay from this. He doesn't have any sick time, just vacation time and I don't know if they'll let him take it. They normally won't let you, but this was a medical emergency type thing so who knows if they'll make an execption. If they don't...*sighs* His birthday is the 18th and if we're that short, I won't be able to do anything for him for the day.
Didn't do a lot today. Thought I ran to the post office to mail out my swap and hit the supermarket to get him some more soft foods and beverages. Poor thing keeps getting all moppy when I eat solid food and he's stuck with soup and pudding. Heh. Though he did enjoy his soup today and I even let him have some Mac 'n' Cheese on the promise he'd not chew it, just swallow it. He was quite happy to be full for once. ;)
Anyway, that's about all from here. Just kinda been hanging out and taking care of Love. He's doing a lot better which is good since it's my turn next on Monday. (Three fillings.) Not as bad as him, but still no fun whatsoever and still will be exhausting and painful.
Alrighty, I'm going to get a snack and might take a shower. Never got to that today and I feel grungy. Might help me wind down a bit and get some sleep tonight. Slept last night but it was really broken (was woken up many, many times from noise to phone ringing, etc.) and full of weird and disturbing dreams. Tomorrow I'll get to sleep in some more since he'll be at work, so hopefully, I can catch up a bit.
